Be Consistent

If you are all over the map, your baby most likely will be too...if sometimes you feed at 7 AM to start your day, other days you sleep in and start your day at 8 AM, and then some days at 545/6 AM...just be consistent.

You may wonder is it time to feed, why your baby is crying because you just fed them, or why your baby isn’t sleeping and wide awake. Consistency equals a predicable baby. 7 AM is a good start time, but find what is best for you and your family. You may have a husband that goes to work earlier, you are returning back to work and want to feed earlier so you can hand off to a caregiver, or your husband wants to get a snuggle in with the baby before he leaves. If this is the case, then start your day at 615, 630 or 645 AM and adjust the rest of the day according to your 3 hour EAT PLAY SLEEP schedule (or 4 hour schedule if over 4 months of age).

Just be consistent with your schedule and your baby will be consistent with their temperament. You will have a bad day here and there, and just tell yourself, tomorrow is a new day. Just try to be consistent.
